For chartering desks, voyage estimators & freight platforms
The carbon line of every voyage estimate, in one API call
From 2026 the EU ETS covers 100% of in-scope shipping emissions — CO₂, CH₄ and N₂O. On a typical deep-sea voyage that is a six-figure euro line item, and under standard time-charter clauses it lands on the party that controls routing and speed. One GET request returns the route, the emissions, the allowances due, the euro cost, FuelEU Maritime exposure, and the CII impact — before you fix.

Chartering desks
Add the ETS and FuelEU lines to every estimate before fixing. Compare Suez vs Cape not just on bunkers and days, but on allowances — the routing engine recomputes scope per option.
Voyage estimation tools
Embed one endpoint instead of maintaining MRV factor tables, EU port lists, phase-in schedules, and penalty formulas that change every January.
Freight & commodity platforms
Show carbon cost per shipment at quote time. Everything is deterministic and auditable — assumptions echoed on every response.
Pricing
The emissions endpoint is included in every Route API plan, alongside sea distances and voyage estimation:
- Starter — $49/mo: 100 calls. For a single desk running pre-fixture checks.
- Annual — $799/mo (billed yearly): 10,000 calls. For estimators and platforms.
- Monthly — $1,199/mo: 10,000 calls, no commitment.
- Enterprise: higher volume, SLA, custom fuel factors and fleet profiles — email us.

Honest scope
This is an estimation engine for decisions made before and during the voyage: fixtures, charter-party negotiations, quote-time carbon pricing. It uses the published regulatory default factors, applies the geographic scope rules to a realistic route, and shows every assumption it made. It is not an accredited MRV verifier and does not file your THETIS-MRV reports. Try the free EU ETS calculator to see the output before touching the API.
Frequently asked questions
What does one call return?
Route distance and steaming time over real sea lanes, emissions by gas (CO2, CH4, N2O, total CO2e), EU ETS scope and phase-in applied to the actual legs, allowances due and euro cost at your EUA price, FuelEU Maritime GHG-intensity balance with the EUR 2,400/t penalty formula, and an indicative CII rating against the IMO reference lines. Every assumption is echoed back and overridable.
How are the ETS scope rules applied?
By geography of the actual voyage: 100% of emissions between two EU/EEA ports, 50% for voyages into or out of the EU, 100% at berth in EU ports, phase-in by year (40% 2024, 70% 2025, 100% from 2026), CH4 and N2O included from 2026, and the 5,000 GT threshold respected. EU/EEA membership is detected from the UN/LOCODE.
Which fuels are supported?
HFO, LSFO/VLSFO, MGO/MDO, LNG, methanol and LPG, each with the published MRV default CO2/CH4/N2O factors, LCV, and well-to-wake intensity. You can override the well-to-wake intensity for blends and biofuels.
Is this verified MRV reporting?
No — it is a pre-fixture estimation engine for voyage estimates, charter negotiations, and cost allocation. Factors are the regulatory defaults and all assumptions are transparent, but official reporting still runs through your accredited verifier.
What does it cost?
The emissions endpoint is included in every Route API plan — Starter $49/mo (100 calls), $799/mo billed annually or $1,199 monthly for 10,000 calls. Higher volume, SLA, or custom factors: email support.marineos@gmail.com.
Can we trial it?
Yes — email support.marineos@gmail.com for a free 100-call trial key, no card. Run your own voyages against your current numbers before paying anything.
