Cookies Policy
Last updated: 9 June 2026
This Cookies Policy explains how the Marine OS marketing site at marine-sky.vercel.app uses cookies and similar tracking technologies, what each one does, and how you can opt out.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember things about your visit — language preferences, login state, analytics measurements — across pages and return visits.
2. Cookies this site uses
Strictly necessary (no opt-out — site won't work without these)
The Marine OS marketing site is a static informational site. It does not require any strictly-necessary cookies for basic page rendering. There is no login, no shopping cart, no session state on the marketing site.
Analytics (opt-in / opt-out available)
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years |
_ga_GG1P2HCV9Z | Google Analytics 4 | Maintains session state for this specific property | 2 years |
_gid | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes visitors (24-hour scope) | 24 hours |
What we use this for: understanding which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, which content is engaging, where pages are confusing. We do not use this data to identify individuals or build advertising profiles.
Third-party cookies set when you interact with embedded content
- Calendly: if you click a "Book a demo" or Calendly link, Calendly may set its own cookies to manage your booking flow. Governed by Calendly's privacy policy.
- Google Search Console: no cookies set on visitors; data is aggregated and provided directly to us by Google.
3. How to opt out of analytics
Several options:
- Google's opt-out add-on: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to disable GA across all websites you visit.
- Browser-level controls: most modern browsers let you block third-party cookies, block specific cookies, or clear cookies on close. See your browser's privacy settings.
- Privacy-protective browsers: Brave, Firefox with Enhanced Tracking Protection, and similar browsers block GA tracking by default.
- Ad blockers: uBlock Origin, AdBlock Plus, and similar extensions typically block GA scripts.
If you opt out, the site still works fully. You will just not appear in our analytics counts.
4. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We don't currently use DNT as a signal to alter behavior because there's no industry-standard interpretation. Use the opt-out methods above instead.
5. Children
This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data through cookies or otherwise from children.
6. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when we add or remove tracking technologies. The "Last updated" date will change. We don't notify visitors directly of cookie changes — check this page when you visit.
7. Contact
Cookie questions: support.marineos@gmail.com.
If you operate Marine OS as a business and have visitors from the EU/EEA/UK, your specific consent requirements (cookie banner, opt-in vs. opt-out) depend on your processing scope. This site does not currently display a consent banner because analytics is the only non-essential cookie set. Consult counsel if you need EU-compliant consent flow.
